Immaturity › Out of the two, Hikaru exhibits a much more explosive personality and quicker to anger, even slightly violent at times. He’s prone to snapping and taking out his anger and confusion on others, due to a lack of understanding how he feels and how to properly manage and deal with his emotions. Emotionally immature, Hikaru is childishly possessive of his friends and love interest, storming out on occasions or even allowing his veins to pop when irritated over second-hand stupidity.
Obliviousness › Not only does Hikaru not comprehend his own feelings, he also lacks the tools to comprehend others and becomes rather self-centered at times due to this. Growing up, he and Kaoru closed themselves off in their own world, yearning for someone to tell them apart and not allowing anybody to and it translates today to Hikaru having trouble with interpersonal relationships and dealing with people’s feelings in the process. He is getting better, though!
Co-dependency › Hikaru is co-dependent on his twin. Once again, due to their lifestyle and a nanny who did them the favor of explicitly telling them to trust no other soul and that nobody would be able to tell them apart naturally, they were greatly closed off until they met the Host Club, especially Haruhi. This greatly affected both of them, creating a loop of co-dependency in which they didn't know how to be their own person for the longest time. They’re currently working on attaining their freedom from each other, while remaining together, like identical flowers that emerge from the same seed in different colors.
That being said, Hikaru needs Kaoru, because he’s the person who understands him most, helps him navigate his emotions and Kaoru will forever be the priority in Hikaru’s eyes. He’s the most precious person Hikaru has, and he wants nothing but the best and happiness for the other part of him. Kaoru comes first, always.
Loyalty › Throughout the series, the biggest concern was keeping everyone together while navigating their love square. Hikaru is incredibly loyal to the Host Club members, and he cherishes his friendships and people who he allows to get into his world. As his world expands, more people may be able to see this side of Hikaru as he grows!
Fun-seeking › Hikaru is fun! A mischievous prankster, he and Kaoru are known as the Devils of the Host Club, pulling pranks and games in order to entertain themselves and others. Unfortunately, that means that he gets bored rather quickly and it is more than advisable to not leave the twins without much to do for long, because they will entertain themselves one way or another! Hikaru is said to be 10% more evil than Kaoru, which means he's the most devilish of the two, the one who comes up with the pranks and looks for fun opportunities with a more sharp eye.
Problem-solving › Hikaru may be plagued by obliviousness, but he also doesn't dwell on feelings or gets lost on 'what-if's. He's straightforward, sincere, and confident in taking action to solve problems without fear. A good example of this is when he and Kaoru decide to become their own separate beings - Kaoru awakens to Hikaru having dyed his hair brown without a second thought or discussion. Another was his decision to hug Haruhi, the first girl he has ever liked, to soothe her from the thunders she is so afraid of. Anxiety takes a backseat and Hikaru follows his heart to its desires, says what he thinks must be said, and does what he thinks is necessary to be done in order to achieve his goals or needs.
Powers/Abilities: None, aside from the power of being fashionable as fuck.
Regret: His biggest regret is not noticing Kaoru's feelings sooner.
